The Last Hurrah
Well our last 4 day vaction proved the be the adventure we were looking for. We headed to the bus station around 12pm to make our 1pm bus to Michoacan. We were pretty excited to score a ride there as it takes about an hour by bus. When we got there we went to purchase our tickets for the bus when Sony realized she had left her purse at the house. So the adventure began. She then took the bus back to her house got the purse and got a ride back again from her sister. We saw her 2 hours later. We decided to take a different bus since the one were were taking didn't leave again for another hour. We found one...a little lower class one...and boarded 15min later. After the 4 hour taxi ride to a small town we got a taxi, which took us the 25min ride to the hotel we found on the internet for 20 pesos ($2.00). When we got there we took out our money to pay for the hotel and Gabby realized she had left her purse somewhere...she didn't know where. So she took a taxi back to the bus station to locate it while we showered and got ready. Our hotel wasn't too bad....of course not I picked it! Small but cute and virtually odorless for the amazing price of 560 pesos a night (around 56.00) for 4 people. Gabby never found her purse so this afternoon was spent at the bank canceling atm cards and on the phone with her mom. We then just had dinner and laid low. The next morning we headed to the "National Park" where we saw many amazing man-made fountains, waterfalls, and streams. They are very good at making pirated national parks. After this we figured we could either go to a volcano about 1 and a half hours away or go to a waterfall that we read about. Since the cab to the volcano was 25.00 and the one to the waterfall was 2.00 we went with the waterfall. Once there we were greated by 6 cowboys on horses asking if we wanted a ride to the falls for 6.00. Well I can't resist a good horse...so we decided to do it. This time it was a 20min ride and no rain. Pretty nice. The waterfall was beautiful along with its surroundings.
The next day we headed to a different city called Morella (its the capitol and I may have spelled it wrong). We then took our taxi to the hotel that Sony had picked out online without seeing any pictures. For the amazing prive of 52.00 a night we found out that you actually do get what you pay for. The door in the bathroom did not shut without a good slam from the person in and a push from the one on the outside. There were no windows except for the small one that led into the hallway. You know we should have known when the room we were assigned to was the first door on the right...you never get the first door on the right! its always the 4th or 5th floor last door on the right. After getting settled we decided to turn on the tv. After not locating the remote I stood up to find that all the buttons on the tv had somehow been destroyed. Luckily we were able to check out a remote at the front deck (about a 5 yard walk), which was taped together with duck tape.
