I am official.
Well, today I took the first step toward being an official North Carolina person. I think the DMV is a little different then that of Southern California since I completed 2 eye tests, 2 sign tests, a written test, got my picture taken and got my license in 45min. Next step will be changing the plates although I don't think I am quite ready for that as they already confiscated my CA driver's license.

Wow, I'm glad to see they're as technology-savvy in NC as they are in LA--looks spiffy. I'm glad it's not laminated--that's what I expected here.
