San Diego

Last night after class...or after the break I should say, Amberlee and I headed down to San Diego to visit a couple of my friends who were on a sort of Campus Crusade retreat type thing. The first stop was of course In-N-Out since Julie, who is from Detroit, MI had never been there or to California for that matter. I met Julie about 4 1/2 years ago when I went on my first AIA trip to Ireland. On that tour she was decideing if she would join the AIA staff. She did and so the following summer we were re-united in Canada where I participated in the 8-week adventure called Soccer Project. That is where we met Kay, who is from Alabama. Julie and I returned to Ireland that year and Kay headed home to begin support raising so she too could join the staff. The year after that Julie led the tour to Brazil and that following January, while she was home in Detroit for Chirstmas, I was able to visit her....so now here we are in San Diego.

This is Julie and I after a long night and a little sleep. She obviously has gotten to shower...I on the other hand waited until I got home.

Meet Keegan!

So here they are...the first official pics of Keegan Isaacson! I can't wait to meet him!!! Congrats Ronda! :)

Fun in the OC!

Wow so this past week was awesome! It went by so fast and so much fun went on that I dont even know where to start! So as I said in my other post I had a few friends in town. Martha and her mom Teresa were here from Mexico and Meghan was here from Washington. We had a blast all week....Ill try and sum up some of the stuff we did.

So we went to Krispie Kreme because I figured we could stroll in grab the free ones since the "Hot Now" sign was on...and be on our way to the Block at Orange where we had some serious shopping to do. But believe it or not they didn't give us the free one!!!!!!!! AHHHHHH what is this world coming to!

This picure actually occured Monday night (after the pics you will see below). From bottom left to right...Sony, Teresa, Becky, Courtney, Me, Meghan. I met Becky and Courtney when I was in Mexico last April. They were living there for a year stint while working with Campus Crusade for Christ. It turns out Becky lives about 30min away and Courtney is living in Whittier going to Biola...small world.

Cali Cont.

Monday was one of my days off so we decided to head off to Hollywood at 11am. In Mexico time this means we leave at 1230pm. It a great day to go as it rained a couple days before so it was still clear out and turned out to be about 75 degrees. We walked the Blvd and Sony and Teresa did a ton of shopping! =)

When our meter ran out for the second time we decided to head for Manhattan Beach. We picked this one because The OC tv show is also very popular in Mexico and rather then take Sony to Newport beach where they don't even film the show, we headed to Manhattan. We were able to first drive past the studio on the way stopping just at the guard booth to be rejected and giggled at by the guard when we asked if they had anything for tourists. We made it just in time for a beautiful sunset.

On Wednesday while I was at work, Sony, Teresa, and Meghan went into Knotts Berry Farm to shop and go on 1 ride! They planned on leaving the house at 10am which this time meant 12pm in Mexico time.

I had to work a lot while everyone was here but they helped my days go quicker by coming in on the days I closed and taking me to work every day. Sony and Meghan even had a race to see who could put up the chairs the fastest. I love free labor!

On Thursday we were lucky enough to get to go to Disneyland for FREE thanks to my mom's connection. So Teresa, Sony, Becky, Meghan and I headed over at 10:30am...which for some reason on this day actually meant 10:30am. I think its because I threatened them with taking away their free tickets. Disney was AWESOME. We waited no more then 5min per ride. When asked what my favorite part about the day was....I always say my $6 piece of pizza...that's what.

Amigas!

This is a fun week for me! Meghan came into town on Friday night...at 1am thanks to a delayed flight. Then on Saturday morning our friends from Mexico flew in. Of course the flight landed at 10:20am and they quickley came through customs finding us at about 12pm :S. We then had to get them some authentic mexican food at Taco Bell.

Teresa has been teaching us some Spanish, and we of course are working on her English.

And we had to put them to work lavarse los platos!

I Repeat....I Love January

This is indeed a picture of the time and temperature (again). 814pm and 72 degrees outside. I love it!

This is our sunset this evening.

I love January

The top one is the temperature outside. I had to open all the doors so it could warm up in here. (picture taken at 3pm)

Maddie and Kalie

I finally got together for lunch with Katie and Maddie, and this time her brother-in-law's daughter-Kalie. We of course had to go to the Silver Palace...a tradition for our- most of the time weekly lunch. I was overjoyed this week because not only did Maddie remember me (we haven't done lunch since the holidays started taking up all our free time), but she insisted on sitting on my lap, spilling on my jeans, eating my rice with her hands, and trying her best to eat my soup throughout the whole meal! I couldn't help but get excited about the two babies Ill know entering the world this 2006 (ronda, Chris and Jon). Oh and I was also very excited to learn that although Kalie's favorite princess is Pocahontas and mine was Jasmine, we do share the favorite color of green and are both frightened by the Beast who accompanies Katies favorite princess-Belle in Beauty and the Beast. Oh kids....

Don't Mess With Texas

My new favorite football player. Vince Young. I didn't have much time to watch college football this year, actually the only game I got to watch most of was the USC v. UCLA game...until tonight that is. All week at work I have been hearing SC this...SC that...SC is gonna smash Texas....Young is good but not good enough to do better then Bush and Leinart. Texas is a one man team....USC has 3...Blah Blah Blah.

So now I can't wait to go back to work and ask all these band wagon fans how it is that one man beat their team. Well he's amazing...that's for sure....but looking at the numbers it wasn't totally his doing. I mean yah he had 40 completions and probably close to 200 yards rushing but someone had to catch those passes.

Anyway I love Vince!
